NELLY PHEWA TO BE REMEMBERED
Members of the media are invited to attend the event where eThekwini Municipality will be honouring and remembering the late Nelly Phewa, a former author and librarian.
 
Keeping in line with the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children, Nelly Phewa will be commemorated for her efforts of instilling the culture of reading among students. She was the author of two children’s books, namely; Scotched and Full Bloom.  The event will be organised by the Municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit, Women’s Forum.
 
Phewa was gunned down in her office at the Hambanathi Library, allegedly by an ex-boyfriend, early this year.
 
The event is scheduled to take place as follows:
